Post: The BEST book about teaching you'll ever read.......

I didn't grad. college till I was 51, but finally did,
with teaching degree, and have been subbing ever since.
I'm weeding out, going thru stuff, and I came across THE
BEST BOOK FOR TEACHERS I ever had, and I wanted to share
it with you newbies.
It is "The Pocket Mentor: a Handbook for Teachers".
Authors are Chris Niebrand, Elizabeth Horn and Robin
Holmes.
Published in 1992 by J. Weston Walch in Maine.
ISBN# 0-8251-2123-X
I have never read a book so easy and fun to read, so
complete, one that covers EVERYTHING you'll need to know
about teaching.
It's not a dreary ol' text book, "...it is not a book of
statistics; it is an anecdotal handbook based on battle
scars acquired during 50 years of combined teaching
experience from K to college."
I truly do think every beginning teacher should have this.
I wish all of you well with your teaching careers...don't
let the admin. get you down! :)
