I've been on hiring committees many times. Sure, a true
type-oh is forgivable. :)
You wouldn't believe how many cover letters we see that are
chock-full of type-ohs, grammar mistakes, and confusing
sentences. These are the ones we weed out because they're
written by people who didn't put the appropriate time and
effort into the application process. When we see poorly
written cover letters, we assume the person is not serious
about wanting the job.
But, in the end, it's the candidate we're hiring... not the
cover letter. It would be a mistake to overlook an
excellent candidate because of one silly little type-oh.
