I'm so sorry that happened. You might want to check your
references to see if something came up--if someone may have
bad-mouthed you or something. The closest thing that happened
to me like this was one time when I had been hired "by mouth"
but hadn't signed anything. Then I waited and waited, and then
found out a reference had come out really bad. (I ended up
getting the job anyway...) You may also want to join the union
so that if anything like this ever does come up in the future
you can call them and ask their advice.
I got laid off from my para job this year. Especially since I
have a teacher's credential and was thinking of working my way
into a long-term career, I was pretty upset. But then I
realized that there must be something even better out there for
me--something that couldn't have happened had I been able to
keep my job.
I hope you get to find out what the "something better" is in
your life soon...
