Just remain very professional, and remember that there is a
reason why they are only a paraprofessional and you are the
certified teacher. They may have been there longer, but
experience only counts for so much knowledge and education. If
they want to be the teacher, they can prove it by going through
the hell of school and getting their certification like you
did! It may take a while, and the school year is still new.
Once they see that your ideas work, etc, they will come around.
Paras sometimes have chips on their shoulders for one reason or
another, just as we all do from time to time, and you are not
responsible for those chips! They have a hard job too: it's
hard to get such crappy pay and little thanks, so there might
be some resentment that you have it better than they do.
