I am currently student teaching in my gen ed placement after
being a paraeducator for 5 years. I have to admit, even though
I was a parapro as a new and upcoming teacher they are my
biggest fear. I knew my place and believed that creating a
positive team was essential I supported every teacher I was
assigned to regardless of whether or not I agreed with them.
Unfortunately, this is not always the case. I think you have to
establish a positive relationship but simultaneously let them
know who signs the report cards-have a meeting and confront it
do everything possible before involving administration.
