Realize that the feelings you are expressing are probably
mutual. There may be a lack of communication that is causing
all the problems. I am having issues with my student teacher. I
tell her things and she doesn't listen. I have asked her write
things down and ask for clarification if she is unsure. She
says "You didn't show me or you didn't tell me I had to be
there etc."
A student teacher should be able to take the initiative and
hand in all lesson plans, attend meetings, plan instruction and
ask questions in a non-threatening manner. Teachers are not
mind readers and are not perfect.
Student teaches are given an expectation list from their
university. Sit down with your teacher and make sure you are
both addressing the expectations. Try to clear the air, start
from scratch and communicate.
