I didn't know if you were talking about from kids or other
teachers. I have seen both, so here they are!
My cooperating teacher sent a note home, without my
knowledge, telling families that my time with their children
was coming to an end. Students brought "teacher" items like
stickers, red pens, Post-it notes, etc. Other students
brought more "gifty" items like mugs, candles, etc. For
students who were not able to bring anything, she gave them a
red pen.
My coop teacher put all of the items in a large basket. She
sent me down to the office on my last day. When I came back
into the room, the basket was sitting on the table. It was a
very special way to end the day!
For a student teacher at my school, all the teachers brought
small "teacher" items and arranged them in a large straw
basket for her.

Beth
