I'll be finishing student teaching in December. I'm
planning to work as a substitute teacher for sometime,
which may be half a year to 1 year time before looking for
a permanent teacher position.
I heard someone tell me that subbing is a bad career move.
She told me that if I sub, it'd be harder for me to get a
permanent teaching position. I thought it made no sense.
Any thoughts on that?
I thought it'd be a good way to ease into teaching. It'd
definitely challenge my classroom management skills. I
thought I can learn different strategies and pick up ideas
from other teachers. It would be a way to show that I can
step into any situation. And if I don't like a particular
school, I dont have to come back.
