Hi,

I want to take the Praxis II to test into additional certifi cation, preferably science or math. Should I take a few clas ses to prepare for the test, or should I learn at my own pac e using study guides and textbooks? How much prep do I proba bly need? I like science, but I majored in English / Seconda ry Education.

dazedstudentteacher Do you know of any good Praxis II test prep courses? I usually stay away from test prep courses, because they are supposedly a waste of money. The company or tutor must be reliable.

Math Teach On the Praxis II exam for math (10061) you will find questions on Linear Algebra and The Calculus. Be prepared for these. I personally wouldn't mind if they made the Praxis 2 exams harder to pass for math certification. IMHO there are too many people teaching math who weren't math majors and don't know math themselves.

Former Lab Tech With all due respect, Dazed, "Liking" a discipline does not mean that one is good at it or has sufficeient background to teach it.
