    You are right here. Students are so used to being entertained
    that they don't know how to just listen quietly. I brought
    this up in a methods class. We were told to make classes
    entertaining, do plenty of group work, etc. I asked why this
    wasn't being done in our college classes. The students aren't
    being prepared to take notes and listen to long lectures.
    There is a happy medium but as usual things have to go to
    extremes before it is found.
