    Hi, Elyssa!

    I also agree with your post. Many, many times the "good but
    catty" is doublespeak for "rowdy, out-of-control, excessively
    talkative and hyperactive students." Remember the number about
    doublespeak in school districts? As you see, my cartoons are
    grounded on sheer reality, and this doublespeak stuff is one of
    the things I cover in my work.

    I have had teachers who at least are honest and tell it like it
    is. One of them has told me in plain language that her students
    have given up, are rude, and will try to tag and steal-and it
    was true.

    I'd rather like being told the truth and thus know what to
    expect, than being lied to and be given a false sense of
    security.
