This is a letter that was written to our newspaper. I
thought it was very nice and wanted to share it with you.
It's a bit of a contrast to the other articles that have
been posted here.
Thanks for faculty room makeover
Imagine our surprise and delight when we walked into our
faculty room Monday morning to discover that it had been
magically transformed into a warm, welcoming, and metro
oasis. This extreme makeover included fresh paint,
border, countertop, curtains, tablecloths, centerpieces,
corkboards, wall art, silk plants, and newly upholstered
furniture.
What happened? Did we die and go to the happy high in the
sky? One only had to look to the glimmering banner gracing
the wall to read, "Thank you to our staff!" and to the
calendar to realize that this was National Teachers'
Appreciation Week.
ABC's Ty Pennington and company had nothing over
Belvidere's generous and dedicated crew. Our makeover was
brought to us through the gracious, hardworking efforts of
parents from our sending districts.
And if this was not enough, allow us to gloat about the
breakfast, baked goods, candies, and door prizes that were
included throughout the week in each of our district's
schools. Wow! In a world where people are quick to
complain, but slow to congratulate, we cannot tell you how
appreciated we feel here in Belvidere.
We are truly touched by the kind gestures. Actions do
speak louder than words. We extend our humble sincere
thanks for all that was done to help us celebrate our
professions and Teachers' Appreciation Week.

Some parents and administrators do appreciate their
teachers. One of the districts that I work in is a
sending district to this high school. They usually have a
lunch for the teachers during this week, the subs are
always included. We have also had a tea for the subs.
