Same situation here in Ontario, CH....DH will be getting the
vaccine next week as he is a priority case. I have always got
the seasonal flu shot and this year, our 16 year old will get
it too - if it EVER becomes available. I was so annoyed the
other night. I was driving home and heard yet another ad
trying to convince people to get the vaccine. Ummmm, HELLO!!!
Some of us are convinced; some of us want it but cannot get
it. Maybe cut the ad campaign for the time being and focus on
setting up more centres were people can go to get the shot or
having extended hours.
Ironically, my older son is in the military and they are to be
vaccinated (voluntarily) tomorrow (there has been an outbreak
where he is stationed). But he has decided not to get it
because he has an elite fitness test on Monday and wants to
qualify at this higher level and is worried that a reaction to
the vaccine or even a sore arm at the site will compromise his
performance on the physical test.
I have been washing my hands every half hour and using hand
sanitizer. And while I never used to use those Clorox wipes
type things, I have been using them now to clean the phones,
keyboard, fridge doors, door knobs, taps, etc. every day. I'm
hoping that some good hygiene practices will help me fend off
any virus until the vaccine becomes available.
