I wrote the post you singled out, so I will respond:
Yes, I do have children and, no, their social skills did not suffer
because I did not hand them off to a stranger to teach them these important
lessons. They were able to learn social skills by watching their parents,
grandparents, family friends, etc, interact with others, playing with cousins
and friends, attending social functions, church, family outings, whatever.
Both excelled all the way through school and are attending excellent
universities on full scholarships. Neither one was afraid to undertake life's
important milestones, i.e., sleeping in their own rooms, going to school,
staying overnight with friends, going off to summer camp, attending college.
I don't think I scarred them too terribly by being available to parent them.
I seriously doubt anyone could have done a better job preparing them for
anything that was to come.
