Good evening!

I am feeling rather tired today. It is a clear night right
now (we are in astronomical twilight right now).

Today I had a brush with one of the administrators. What
happened was that one student called me an obscene name, but
he denied it so vehemently that he even went to get an
assistant principal, who called me outside of the room. He
then asked me to repeat what he said, which I did. Then the
AP told me that the student said something else, close to
what he originally said, but it was something else. But in
the end, we gave him the benefit of the doubt and nothing
happened. The students can be so extremely convincing that
the teacher is the one who ends up backing off and giving
the students (and the teacher) the benefit of the doubt.
Hopefully I won't get in trouble.

During lunch, I talked to a TA, who told me that we must
give chances to these students because they come from
poverty backgrounds and that they have many things against
them blah blah blah.

I also came from a poverty background and came here with
almost no knowledge of English and having the baggage that
many of these students use as an excuse for their
misbehavior and hatred of school and I was not rude or lazy,
or gave excuses.
