Yeah subbing can be a tough gig. It's really hard when you fall
short, and hard as I try I do not always provide the 'best'
service. It's not that I don't try or don't care, but replacing
a good teacher is a hard thing to do. I will admit it, I was not
as firm with her class as maybe I should have been. I sub a lot
at that school, it's K-8, and the 8th graders will tell you I am
the strictest, meanest sub there- second only to this one
science teacher who claims she is a Drill Instructor. For the
record, this lady has never served in the military and I have,
so really I am probably more DI than her...I dunno, we argue
about it sometimes. But my point is that I am no pushover, but I
will take full responsibility for not being more demanding,
setting my standards too low, and not making them cry and
complain to their folks and the P. Mea Culpa. But this lady
wanted me to ber her and I am not her, I am me. She didn't
include important information in her lesson plan about
procedures for reading groups (it wasn't until day 3 that I
learned about "ask 3 people" in the meantime I got by with "Do
you interrupt your regular T during reading groups?" but about
half them would because this is so important. They were supposed
to take reading quizzes on the computer but none of them could
so much as log in. Name? Lunch numer? what's that. Type the name
of the book in? Not on your life. Pick the book they just read
from a list of books? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA We went to the computer
lab for 20 minutes of pure helplessness. I told the team over
lunch "It was painful." and one T told me "You should see my
class in there, you don't know what pain IS!"

But like I said I gave my kid (3rd grader)a test (Woodcock
Johnson) and heres the final scores

Letter-word identification (reading big words) 5.3 (5th grade
    3month)

    Reading fluency 6.9!!!

Math calculation (series of harder and harder problems) 6.4!!
Applied problems (a series of harder and harder word problems)
    6.0!!!!

Spelling 4.7 (She kneads to werk on dat)

There's a couple other scores that I am not sure how to calculate

AS far as what will I teach, I am open to anything with a steady
paycheck. I will have a MA in Ed and be dual certified for Elem
ed or Speced- not that I will ever TEACH special ed...at least I
dont think I would, maybe, if the money was good enough. I still
have a while before graduation, but when I do graduate I will
    start signing my posts

    or Mr. 4thgrade (MA Ed.)
