    Post: Lunch Duty

    Jo from MO

    Posted on 11/08/09

Hi! I'm Jo and am a 3rd grade teacher's aide. I live in
    Missouri.

I am the lunchroom monitor for two periods - K-2 and then 3-
    5. We have an issue with the noise level and I am looking
economical ideas (i.e. - cheap, free) to help control the
noise level. The lunchroom is small and walls are concrete
blocks; thus, the acoustics are not good.

The children don't realize how loud they get. I want them
to talk to their friends but also can't have the noise
    filtering throughout the school.

The principal suggested maybe putting posters on the
walls. One of the volunteers suggested swags made from
sheets. Any ideas would be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.
