I normally work in one district, andI've never had a problem before at this school. But I had 7th graders yesterday, and they were horrendous. All the classes. Constantly talking, would not behave during study hall. Entering the classroom noisy. I had to sent one boy to the office because he pulled another student's hair and made her upset. Another boy cursed out loud. Sometimes I've had one class that acts up but this was all the classes. I'm always strict and professional and don't let things slide. I've never had this situation. I know students are testing and need to let of steam, but I have a feeling it might be the teacher they have. I know the regular teacher is out - and they have a long-term sub. Could this be part of the reason? The lesson plan was very confusing and there was no seating chart. I will not be going back to this teacher but from doing learning support I've noticed that students act very differently depending on who the teacher is.

2. I was sent to help a middle schoo...See More

pixie agreeing with Ze Ze is correct; It depends on the students. Some will take advantage of the fact that they have a sub and use that as an excuse for bad behavior, but the fact that there are plenty of well-behaved kids who maintain their self-control, sub or no sub, shows that it is the kids, and not the sub, who are the determining factor.
