We had a practice lockdown today. This school does not give substitutes keys to the classes, and the lockdown started right at the beginning of my coverage - really bad timing. We were supposed to do a headcount. I had no idea who was supposed to be in the class, or how many students there were. Then the students - snotty 12th graders - wouldn't be quiet. Some rolled their eyes when I told them to be quiet. It was one of those classes where everything you say is met with moaning or eyerolls. You pass out the work - more moaning.
