I was a World Teach volunteer in Thailand in the mid-90s
(they no longer have a program there). I loved it and would
not be teaching today, if I had not had that experience.
Some might question, why do I have to pay to be a volunteer?
Well, WT can answer most of those questions, but there are
lots of costs involved in setting up this program. I had
also looked into Peace Corps at the time, but found it too
bureaucratic and the application process too time consuming
(although I have heard that this has been improved). I
waited over a year for Peace Corps before going with WT,
which I felt was a very good program. I also went with the
    intention of staying two years.

A year or a summer goes by very fast. If you are concerned
about leaving your job and if money and time off are not
issues, I would recommend you look into the summer or
semester program. I have only fond memories of WT and can
    recommend it highly. Good luck!
