Re: Who is Teaching Tech in Elementary Schools

We have a computer lab but teachers also take some
responsibilities in teaching the tech classes. We collaborate
on what is taught in the lab, and what is strictly the
teachers responsibility. Teachers usually use the technology
such as power point after students are introduced to it in
the lab setting.Younger students are practicing keyboarding
skills. They type their spelling words in at
spellingcity.com and then play the games. The older students
are working in the lab on a grocery project where they are
using the internet to select products and place them in a
power point. Then students are answering math word problems
about the groceries they choose to "purchase"(they don't
actually purchase anything. So I would say everyone in our
school plays a role in integrating the technology.
