Any words of advice for a junior high teacher (5-8 grades) moving down to third grade for next year? Any resource books you recommend, behavior expectations, websites, anything at all? I've been in junior high for 25 years and looking forward to this new move.

Steve Kids are younger - they will like you more, they love to help the teacher do anything - sharpen pencils, pass out papers, take notes to other classes, etc. Obviously, they know less, but they are excited to learn. Michelle I agree with Steve, except if you give them an inch they WILL take a mile. Love them, but be firm. Praising is contageous! Be fun and expect them to enjoy in that fun with you. Use lots of hands on materials, remembering at this age, auditory learning is about zero! Use some kind of visual class management chart?...I.e., clip up, clip down, sticker...See More
