Re: my daughter with adhd/dyslexia

I am not sure if this is relevnat. But I have dyslexia and my
daughter had intermittent ADD.
We dealt with it through Montessori methods. First we found
something she liked ot do and could concentrate on. Many times
teh ADD woudl alleviate or lessen by her doing something she
liked.
Then we began expanding her reading by buying books that she
was interested in. Anyreading is better than no reading. MAD
magazine was easy and short, then she went to other magazines
like Nat. Geo, Farmers Lmanac, etc.
Her reading expanded by leaps and bounds and by the time she
was in the 9th grade she was reading at 4th year college level.
For her english and grammer we went to MAD LIBS. It too helped
immensly. The sillier it got the more she understood. Then math
was used to enhance what she enjoyed.
Everything was made relevant and that made her zoom and thats
also how I tutor. I hope this helped. find what she enjoys and
make all lessons hidden and relevant.
