AMEN to that! It's not like it costs a lot. There are amazing
open-source forum packages available. All you need is a PHP/MySQL
server laying around. Just about everyone does. :-)
I'm surprised no one has mentioned this sooner.
I've used PHPBB, and many others, and lately have been enamored with
Simple Machine:
