    Hi. I got a potential offer from a NYC DOE public school and I really want to
    work there. The problem is they will hire me only from Feb. 2nd although they
    will try to hire me as a sub. until then. Is this usual or not? Does anyone know
    how long the sub. process takes? From a quick browsing of chatboards, it
    seems that even with an online nomination, it could take weeks?
    I'm a little nervous as I'll have to quit my current job and not have a paycheck or
    health insurance for January, and no savings. Thanks.
