    This varies a bit by district. Some may have the number of
    outside experience years granted spelled out in a contract, no
    more than 5, for instance. Even then, they typically don't have
    to give them to you. You're not entitled to them. You may be
    able to negotiate for more, depending upon what you teach and the
    local job market and the market for the sub-field you teach, but
    don't expect to get the full 10.
