    Hello all,

I am trying to get some more information in regards to my certification. I
thought I had everything in place; I found and accepted a teaching position,
finished everything for my reciprocity (testing, workshops, fingerprinting, etc).
Before I started the application process I had checked to make sure everything
was above the board before I even started the process. My experience was not
exactly what New York State said they required because I worked in 2 different
states and they wanted it all in one (I have 2 years of certified teaching
experience in one state and one year of certified teaching experience in
another) they had told me that should be fine (I contacted the state twice and
there was no issue at the time.) Anyway, 2 weeks ago, I checked to see what
the status was and someone told me that this may make me ineligible to attain
my reciprocity. They are saying if I am found ineligible for certification that
they will give me my options. But it takes 2 - 6 months to evaluate an
application. I am beside myself. Everything is up in the air. But this throws a
    major wrench.

If anyone has insight in regards to this caveat and if this will definitely exclude
me from certification? Or what the potential options could be? I have not
gotten a good answer from anyone yet. I would appreciate any help. Thanks in
    advance.

    Best,

    SB
