I have been teaching 4th grade for a while. I have the
following center in my class.
Library Center( with basket of books on levels 3-5 checked out
from the library)Students go there and read at their level and
write on their reading journal what they like best and why
should anyone want to read it.
Writing Center- Students work on their prompt of the week for
their writing and share them within the group and give
contructive criticisim.
Math Center- Students work together going over their math
homework. They help each other with anything difficulty they
might have. When done they play a game on multiplication. Try
to vary the games.
Reading - Students work on vocabulary activitiies.
Teacher Center- Students come to you for reinforcement in any
area they migh have a problem with.l
I rotate counter clock every 20 minutes. Don't want them too
long at a center or else they will act out.Keep each group at
a maximum 6 students.
