Re: Middle School Centers
When I taught middle school language I made a: Writing
Center - I had large cut-outs of various shapes (skate, tree,
bear, etc.) The students could go there, pick a shape, cut it
out of construction paper and then cut the same shape out of
paper. They would then create their own story book. I also
had an old briefcase that I used for specific skills we were
working on at the time. I had folders labeled and worksheets
in the folders for the students to complete. When learning
about business letters, I purchased a book about "free things
to send off for" and set up an area where the students could
go look through the book, compose a business letter and after
checked, could send it off. Many of the kids who received
their "free" stuff brought it to school to show everyone.
I hope this helps.
