Uh, Mike? First of all, the owner/director of Travel Selections and ITS
International Tours is named Joe Maloof, not Jim. Also, portions of the
article from the SJ Mercury News were already posted in this forum on
August 4 this year, so hopefully his current creditors (if they read
this board) are aware of the criminal charges filed in 1988 and the
subsequent prosecution. The archives of the Merc hold eight articles
relating to the downfall of "Travel International," the Maloof's
original company, and the millions of dollars lost by students and
teachers whose tours were canceled and to whom no refunds were
    forthcoming.

As far as Ron Hansen of IGT and his recent disclaimer, there seems to
be some discrepancy as to "who owes what to whom" and what agreements
were made when he took over the financially troubled Travel Selections
and renamed it International Grand Tours. At least he is promising to
make restitution to IGT clients within a year's time. That leaves those
who lost money to Travel Selections and ITS International Tours sort of
out in the cold. What is being done for these people? I know the Santa
Clara DA is investigating and that there is an investigative reporter
hot on the story. But the Maloofs are working for TSA in Tempe, AZ, as
though there were no problems. Can anyone shed some light on this?
