I would have gladly worked with a company here. I contacted at least
five companies and none of them would deviate from their set
    itineraries.

In our instance there was nothing for a tour guide to do. After
being taken to our destinations we walked to the schools or rode the
bus. We had contacts at both schools. We had nine adults to 14
    students.

Our trip was not sponsored by our school, even our high school
language trips are not sponsored by the schools, but we did go with
our administrative team's blessing and our school system and our
    community supported our trip.

We did encounter a few minor problems which were handled quickly
either by myself or with the help of ACR. I have traveled to Costa
Rica, France and Spain with my daughter when she was in high school.
We went with Interact to Costa Rica and with Explorica to Europe.
Even though we had tour guides with both trips when we encountered
problems with schedules and accomodations, the teachers had to call
the companies' headquarters to fix the problem and most of the time
    it wasn't fixed.

I have to say my trip went much smoother than either of those, but to
be fair our trip was a much simpler one.
