As far as the question about what to do with the pet on
vacation, students are always willing to take the pet home-
you can use this as a special reward. I had 2 fire-bellied
toads as class pets. They worked out just fine (but they do
require a diet of crickets- students are usually happy to make
a trip to a pet store and help out with the crickets). -Sandy
