In my pre-K classroom we have a bearded dragon. He is a lovely pet
and fairly easy to care for, needing crickets once a week and
veggies several. He is friendly to the children and they love to
hold him. Plus he opens up discussions about his habitat (desert)
and the differences between the kids' world and his. As for mammals,
guinea pigs are my favorite and are content to stay over weekends
only needing care when more than 2-3 days if well stocked with food
and H20
