    Post: Only 12 States Left!

Posted by Yusra Millenbaugh on 7/28/08

Hi everyone! Me and some other teachers have organized a
postcard exchange for the 2008-2009 school year and I'd
like to invite you to join us!

We still need paticipants from the following states:
    Alaska
    Delaware
    Hawaii
    Louisiana
    Nevada
    North Dakota
    Oregon
    Rhode Island
    South Dakota
    Utah
    Vermont
    Wyoming

Please email me at yusrashihabi@yahoo.com if you would
    like to participate!!

The way it works is each class sends one postcard to every
other classroom on the list. Ideally, your class will
send out 49 postcards from your state and receive 49
postcards from each of the other states. I will email you
a file with the address labels for each class on the list
when I have enough teachers signed up. You can just print
them out, then peel and stick them to the postcards.

I usually have the kids help me draft the message that I'm
going to write on the postcards instead of having the kids
write them individually. Then I type up the message on
address labels and put one on each postcard. It's pretty
quick. We'll set a date that all the postcards must be
mailed out by, you mail yours and then wait for your
mail! (We'll probably start in mid-September and end at
    the end of January).

You can ask each child's family to donate a stamped
postcard of your state for you to send out if you wish (I
usually just buy them myself though because of the area I
teach in). I hung up the ones we received and then at the
end of the year I give them to the kids to take home, so
each kids got 2 or 3.

I hope this is fairly clear. If you have any questions,
please don't hesistate to ask. Please let me know if your
    class would like to participate!
    Thanks!
