TEACHERS.NET ANNOUNCES HOLIDAY BANNER AD
CHARITY PROGRAM: "CLICK FOR A CAUSE"

SAN DIEGO, CA -- Teachers.Net today announced a bold new advertising program designed to allow visitors on Teachers.Net to support charitable causes just by clicking on a banner ad. For the month of December, Teachers.Net will feature specially identified "Click for a Cause" banner advertisements on the Teachers.Net website. Every time a Click for a Cause banner is clicked by a visitor on Teachers.Net, Teachers.Net will donate ten cents to a charitable cause.

Click for a Cause was the brainchild of site creators Tony Bott and Bob Reap. The program is designed to help teachers support charitable causes in the holiday season without spending a penny. At the same time, banner advertisers on the website are expected to receive dramatically improved banner click rates, and thereby receive much better values for their Internet advertising dollar.

To join the Teachers.Net Click for a Cause program, advertiser places a banner advertising insertion order by December 15, and selects the charity she wants to receive the donation. Teachers.Net offers banner click rates as low as $10 per thousand, so for example if an advertiser made a purchase of $5000, she would receive 500,000 banners. The current average Internet click rate is reported to be around 1%, so a normal click-through might be about 5000 clicks for the banner run. In this case Teachers.Net would donate $500 toward the charity of the advertiser's choice.

Since visitors to Teachers.Net will be informed that clicking on selected banners will result in a holiday donation by Teachers.Net, the typical banner click rate is expected to increase dramatically. The banner purchase of $5,000 outlined above might result in a click rate of 2.5%, or 12,500 clicks. This would mean that Teachers.Net would donate $1,250 to the advertiser's charity. (The donation to the charity has a limit of 25% of the banner proceeds)

As an added bonus, if the advertiser is willing to match the Teachers.Net donation, Teachers.Net will double the number of banner ads purchased - free. This means that an advertiser can purchase 1 million banner ads on Teachers.Net for $6250 or less, and a portion of this cost is a tax-deductible charitable donation. This cost breaks down to a CPM of just $6.25, about 1/6th of the current average banner cost on the Internet.
