Of course we had contract language covering such things, but
that doesn't change the fact that is was a stupid use of
time. Unless the teacher is in a one room school house,
scrubbing her own floors and filling the coal bin, schools
HAVE come to the point that the trained, experienced
professionals with multiple degrees can be better utilized
TEACHING, while other tasks associated with smooth running of
a school are better delegated to a paraprofessional,
tradesperson, or hourly hire.
My point was that even ONE duty is not the way to utilize the
highest level professionals in one's school.
