In my opinion it would be insanity. As I have said on this
board a number of times, I was one of the few folks who
regretted my decision to retire. It took quite a while to
snap out of my funk. Anyway, I was a long-term leave (a full
school year) replacement in my area of expertise. Believe
me, I had no more regrets about my decision to retire! I
think you just need time to get used to being retired; give
it time and let the college grads have all the aggravation
and stress. Relax and enjoy your freedom. (By the way, why
not just substitute on a per diem basis? You won't be
bored, will still have your teaching "fix" and make some
extra money as well. Plus, it's optional..... work only if
and when you feel like it!).
