Hi-
I seem to be have a terrible time trying to completely
retiring. I'm 69, and still teach part-time at a private
school where I need to be there everyday. I'm only 1/3 a
full time teacher, but the grind of getting there at 7:30
everyday is not enjoyable. It's my 43rd year.
I won't go into my history here, but I've analyzed my
issue. Most of my colleagues are in their 30's and 40's.
For some reason, I put me on par with them. I feel guilty
about not being in school, but they are. I even feel
guilty about not volunteering for school trips or after
school activities. It's not how I like to end my teaching
career.
I'm retiring again in a few weeks. I plan on staying
retired, but curious if others who have retired has
trouble leaving work and still feeling guilty that you
are doing it and others aren't.
