Of course remove it.
Are you a DYI person?
Wood decks help sell a house but always rot out.
I prefer pavers or concrete. You can hose and clean them and
they don't rot like decking. You may need steps down if your
house is a sub floor instead of a slab. Slab houses are lower
to ground, so a patio would not need a step down feature.
You could also do a block wall around the patio with a nice
cap and place plants. Hook the plants up to drip watering. It
would look really nice. You could have a couple of weather
resistant chairs, bistro table. Really cool look.
Sounds like to me you want the room gone. Really look at how
it was built and attached to house as removal could cause
nail holes and damage to house siding. If house is stucco
there are great stucco patches. If it is wood you can get
patching for that. Lots of things to plan first.
Tear down means getting rid of the old materials. If you have
truck easy. Or utility trailer easy. Otherwise you have to
pay someone or rent a dumpster. None of this stuff is cheap.
Good luck with your project.
