In Ontario, the cost to maintain your teaching certification
is $150 per year. I did not renew mine when I retired.
However, should I get some ludicrous idea like returning to
teaching 5 or 10 years from now, I can pay a reinstatement
fee (probably at least $100) and then pay the yearly
amount.
I'm pretty confident in saying that it's never, ever going to
happen.
