I received a life time teaching certificate the last year
that they were issued. I know that after that teachers had
to renew and pay but never paid attention to the term or
cost.
But, after I retired I did sub. I worked as a sub for 5
years. Two years ago the state decided that even with a
life time teaching certificate you needed to apply and pay
for a subbing certificate. The certificate cost $100 and
was good for 3 years. I quit subbing. I wasn't going to sub
forever and it seemed like an appropriate time to move on
to full-time retirement.
