Your day trip sounds like a lot of fun. I love wine tasting and
chocolate isn't bad either!! I think it would be fun to eat at an
Amish place. When we were in Bird-in-Hand years back, we
would have done that if we'd had more time.
It sounds like PA. has more sense than CA. Most schools here
start the week of August 15 which is way too early in my opinion.
Yet, as a retiree, it works for me because stores, restaurants,
and movie theaters aren't nearly as crowded during the week.
That part is nice.
Your trips sound wonderful. I would love to see NC sometime.
We don't have any big trips planned at the moment but we're
thinking of maybe a Mexico cruise in the future. We'd love to
cruise out of San Francisco but then that's too many days at sea.
In a couple of weeks, we are joining my sister and brother-in-
law and heading north to the Redwoods, one of my all time
favorite places. Have you ever been out and seen them? The
Avenue of the Giants is a must see. I could spend hours in there
amongst the beauty. The ground is blanketed with ferns. I also
love visiting the town of Ferndale with all the Victorian houses
and buildings. Fun! I would also like to visit the Carson House
in Eureka. So pretty.
I'm praying that there won't be fires!! We had a trip scheduled
and had to cancel to Monterey and Carmel due to fires. It's still
going so that wouldn't work. They lost a lot of tourist revenue
due to the fires.
Anyway, have fun and when you see Back to School signs, just
smile.
