State-wide Art Project: #StickFigureAK

The Arc of Anchorage needs help from students across the state of Alaska. It doesn’t cost anything but a few minutes of time and creativity! The Arc is asking teachers to invite students to make stick figures (out of anything) for a great cause and as a bonus, each entry provides a chance to win some awesome prizes!

In addition, The Arc would LOVE to see the creativity Alaska Native and all the other amazing cultures in our state can bring to the online collective, so we encourage students of all cultures to participate! The goal is for the project to show representation of Alaska through our diverse cities, villages and tribes, one stick figure at a time through the power of a special image-based social media movement that brings awareness to the importance that art and creativity has in all our lives, no matter what our abilities may be -- we ALL are capable of creating. The #StickFigureAK project also supports the work that The Arc of Anchorage art program called Sparc: a creative place is doing with Alaskan artists that experience intellectual and developmental disabilities.

The #StickFigureAK project is simple: make a stick figure out of anything, take a picture of your stick figure creation and submit it via social media by posting on The Arc of Anchorage's Facebook, Twitter or Instagram accounts through September 1 or through the online submission form at ak.stickfigurecollective.com.

VOTE! PRIZES!

Then, ask friends, family and co-workers to VOTE for your stick figure on the ak.stickfigurecollective.com gallery. The top 100 stick figure images will be published in a limited-edition coffee table book and other fun prizes will be available to top winners. Official rules and prize information are HERE.

CONTEST DEADLINE: Stick figure submissions are accepted through September 1! Please share this with EVERYONE because this fun project is for EVERYONE!
