Rae, a good site is www.alsde.edu/htm/home.asp then click SECTION
and click FAQ's. I do know "emergency" certificate has to be
initiated by the principal and approved. The website will answer
many questions and other links will provide documents with the
explanation to various issues. I am a new resident without family/
friends connections but have references and referrals from others
by chance meetings in the community. Stay positive P.S.I know this
is not the best option but(if you are coming to HSV anyway) submit
a Substitute application to HSV, Madison City, Madison County, and
Decatur (about 20 miles from HSV)... before you know it you will
be in there! P.S. Get the name of the person at the office,
school, etc. and try to stay in contact with that individual.
