    Depends on the school. I worked at one for three years. The
    Elementary teachers had to be certified, but the middle/high
    school teachers didn't. They had to be degreed and have 24
    credit hours in the subject they would be teaching. This is
    the minimum required by SACS, so it is pretty much the norm.
    Some private schools will only hire certified teachers per
    parent expectations.

    If you've taken the Praxis, you wouldn't need another exam.
    Also, if you taught for three years on your LA or TX
    certificate, you don't need to take any tests to be certified.
    The test would only be for highly qualified status (if you
    taught 3 years).
