Re: Are you sure you want to teach in Chambers County???
Posted by Klaire on 5/03/08

I will need to since I will live there. I have no children
school age. I have always taught in Title 1 schools, very
poor and very rural, so I feel the kids can't be much
different from the ones I have taught in years past. I, too,
sent my children to private school because the public schools
(where I taught) were rough. The kids were rough, behavior
was a problem. The classes were often struggling to get to
grade level work. The private schools were working closer to
grade level and often above grade level. And the private
schools simply would not abide misbehvior, so class time was
not lost with teachers dealing with misbehavior. So I realize
the problems in the public schools.
