Re: Abuse in Shirley Elementary by Cindy Coleman
Posted by Well Mr. B on 4/03/08

These appear to be younger kids- elementary age. If I ever
found out my kid was scrubbing toilets in a public building such
as this I would have a fit. And I hope none of those kids have
any underlying heart conditions. Ever think of that , smart guy?

I think there is a definition of punishment and a definition of
abuse that needs to be addressed by public schools. Educators
with college degrees seem to have a problem with something
called common sense. And public policy of public schools should
be clearly defined so parents don't have to worry about it. BUT
it will take til hell freezes over when that happens. I don't
mind discipline for my children, but the end result is what did
the kid learn from the designated discipline. There is a fine
    line between discipline and punishment.

Its a public school not a military school. And Coaching
Athletics is not the same thing. What age did you say you
coached? I am sorry but I pay taxes for the simple reason to
have schools operate the right way and I would expect janitors
and hired help to clean bathrooms, not to have free child labor.
And then they say 'it didn't happen' ....yeah right. CYA mode to
    me.
I would love to find out what they were actually being punished
for, because often the punishment doesn't fit the crime. What
did they do, call a teacher a poo poo head..
