It is cold in Massachusetts in the winter but you can go outside
and participate in outdoor sports -- something you cannot do in AZ
in the summertime. Heat stroke and skin cancer are two problems
that come to mind. Never did have problems with frostbite and
walked every day back home. I lived in MA and Alaska and felt more
cabin-bound in AZ than I ever did in Alaska or MA. The kids from
the Northern schools love moving down to AZ though. They find
their education back home was two years ahead of what AZ is so
basically high school is review and a breeze. Working condition are
horrid here. Basically it is horrid for many people including
teachers and the conditions of the immigrants down here can be
heartbreaking. Arpaio is another J Edgar Hoover arresting illegals
and getting great press for it. The irony is that he is arresting
the little guys, the truly dangerous are hands-off. Conditions in
prisons are truly shameful and he brags. Not much better than
Andersonville as far as I am concerned. So many violations of
human rights and this is supposedly part of the USA. The literacy
rate is appalling also. I had many high school students who could
not read.
