I don't get it. I have had a handful of interviews. Each
time, when I've been told I did a good job, still they have
found someone who is a better fit. I have even asked "What
can I work on that will help me in the future?". So I have
taken the advice, and I try to be as detailed as I can in
answering all of the technical questions. I try to give good
examples and be open and confident and I just keep getting
these closed doors.
It's really disappointing. I just got turned down for a job
I know I would do well at, it sounded so exciting to me to
do, I fit the criteria in the job description, yet someone
else was a better fit, even though I was told I did a really
good job. I really don't understand. Is it me? Are there
specific secret things they look for, and it's kind of a
guessing game for candidates?
I'm not a new teacher, been around for 6 years. I took the
advice of a GREAT principal I had early on (he has accolades
for his leadership and was a principal for 21 years) who
told me it's okay to move around (either WITHIN or OUTSIDE
OF the district) your first few years to find where you best
belong. So I did that. I have never left a job on a bad note.
Any advice and encouragement is greatly welcomed. I don't
want to give up because my passion is teaching, pure and
simple. I love it. I don't want to look into another
profession (am I crazy w/as little money as we make?
haha...). I don't know what to do.
