    This is exactly why I feel like I have to get out of teaching in
    Arizona. Not only is it no longer safe, there are plenty of people
    who think that teacher equals martyr. Teachers deserve to have a
    full life outside of their work obligations. I've lost
    relationships over the amount of personal time I've given to
    teaching. No more!

    Jamil, I also agree with your post. Regardless of how much you want
    to help your students, you should not be responsible for analyzing
    and reporting every detail of these people's lives. I get the
    feeling that you are so conscientious that you would feel as if
    you in fact you need to report all the problems you saw. That's how
    I read your original post. And what a major responsibility that
    would be! That isn't what a teacher is trained to do.
